Kick Dance Studio’s Leadership in Training (LIT) program provides a unique opportunity for our dancers to build leadership skills. LIT’s play a key role on our team and serve in a variety of areas including junior assistants, events, activities, and support staff. The goals of our LIT program are to teach the general skills of leadership that can be used at school, home and community (not just at the studio) For our emerging leaders the curriculum includes working with younger dancers at the studio, and often includes community components like volunteering at senior centers. Our LIT’s will learn skills for working with children and co-teachers, and gain experience planning and leading activities. The Kick LIT Program gives kids age-appropriate challenges that build their skills, confidence and capacity for working with people of all ages.
Our LIT program also fulfill the community service requirement at many schools. Working through this program, our dancers have the skills and tools needed to go out and pursue extensive scholarship opportunities with the Distinguished Young Woman of America program, Miss New Jersey Outstanding Teen Program and the Miss American program down the road. These three programs offer full college scholarships to deserving young women based on their scholastics, community service, talent, interview, physical fitness and poise and appearance.
